Digitally Enhanced in order to fix audio recording Speed/Pitch/Tone along with Bass and Treble as much as possible so that the recording sounds like Sir Ian McKellen throughout the entirety of the recording as the source is analog which has a tendency to drift speed through playback thus affecting both pitch and tone, and fixed the volume level is consistent through each part and between parts.
Homer’s The Odyssey is a foundational epic poem following the Greek hero Odysseus’s ten-year journey home after the Trojan War, filled with trials, divine intervention, and ultimately, his triumphant return to Ithaca to reclaim his throne and family.
Here’s a more detailed summary:
The Setup:
Odysseus, king of Ithaca, has been away for twenty years, fighting in the Trojan War and then attempting to return home.
Odysseus’s Journey:
His journey is fraught with peril, as he faces mythical creatures, storms, and the wrath of the gods, particularly Poseidon, who is angry with Odysseus for blinding his son, Polyphemus.
Penelope and Telemachus:
While Odysseus is gone, his wife Penelope and their son Telemachus are besieged by suitors who want to marry Penelope and take over Ithaca.
Divine Intervention:
Gods like Athena, who favors Odysseus, and Zeus, who is more neutral, intervene to help or hinder Odysseus’s journey.
The Return:
Odysseus eventually reaches Ithaca in disguise, where he reveals his true identity and, with the help of Telemachus and loyal servants, defeats the suitors and restores order to his kingdom.
Themes:
The Odyssey explores themes of homecoming, loyalty, cunning, fate, and the importance of family and home.

I don’t understand what you mean by: “Digitally Enhanced in order to fix audio recording Speed/Pitch/Tone along with Bass and Treble as much as possible so that the recording sounds like Sir Ian McKellen”
Surely the recording is already at the correct speed/pitch/tone? It was originally released in 1999, so it’s not like audio recording/production technology was primitive, and on CD, so there should be pristine digital copies available. What exactly are you doing, and on what basis?
TBH, this notice makes me very leery of downloading the books you share, since it sounds like you’re monkeying around with the recordings in some unspecified fashion. (Much like another recent uploader who shared sped-up books because they liked them better that way.)

Not at all. Many of these recording originated from analog tape sources, even this, and you can tell that the source was not good. There is too much bass or muffling, not enough mid/high tones, at times the speed goes off which impacts the tone and pitch etc. I am not monkeying with anything other than fixing the recording to match what his voice sounds like elsewhere. If you listen to it you will see that. Otherwise, dont get it :) Compare each part with that which is available elsewhere, anywhere, and you will see that the quality is much better. I dont arbitrarily tinker with any of my audiobook files.

This source and I suspect every other one out there, is originally an analog transfer which has a tendency to drift speed through playback thus affecting both pitch and tone, and I fixed the volume level so that is consistent through each part and between parts.

Just because the release year is 1999 doesnt mean it wasnt transferred to digital from an analog source and certainly doesnt mean there are pristine digital copies out there, as the releases would all stem from the same transfer print. On this basis do I try to fix anything that is wrong with the audio so that it sounds as clean as possible, and then share it FREE with others. You are free to purchase it online but I have, both digital and CD, and they both have the exact same issues, hence they came from the same source transfer which had issues.

I do own this book on CD, but it’s been years since I listened to it, and I have no memory of the quality. I see that there are some customer reviews online that complain about the audio quality and playback speed/pitch on some tracks, so apparently you are addressing a genuine issue.
What made me suspicious was how vague the description of the problems and editing was, and the way you attributed the issues to an analog source, as if speed drift was just a normal fact of life for analog recordings. But that sort of audible speed distortion would only occur if sourced from an inferior copy and/or played on inferior equipment (like a cassette tape on a consumer tape deck), or much more rarely if there was a major technical malfunction or mistake made in the digital transfer process. Which apparently there was in this case.
Remember that others online do not know you; I cannot judge your competence other than by what you communicate, so don’t get offended if I don’t take everything on blind trust.
