Unsure if it helps to explain but:
The novel primarily follows two characters perspectives, Zack and Ryun. Additionally it explores two timelines, the first being the initialisation of the litrpg system hitting earth and the introduction of earth to a ‘main’ world some time later.
The authors way of writing and this style I think works really well with the story, since your introduced to ‘the end of earth’ straight away, led to believe facts, but then are called to question your opinion of characters as the story progresses.

The book isnt actually 34h long its just the most excruciatingly slow reading narrator. Had to listen at 2.5-3x speed to get it to sound “normal” and then the book is 12h long…

soo book jumps around in timelines so mudge that while working i miss just couple mins here and there and because of that i have absolutely no idea abou whats hapening after couple hours… i hate these every chapter has 2x carecters doing 1213 timeline jumps and when i cannot even remember the names of main toons i just cannot care
